Company Description
At Bosch, we shape the future by inventing high-quality technologies and services that spark enthusiasm and enrich people’s lives. Our promise to our associates is rock-solid: we grow together, we enjoy our work, and we inspire each other. Welcome to Bosch.
At the Bosch Engineering Center in Linz, we develop software and hardware for the powertrain, as well as components for the sustainable and climate-neutral energy industry for our international customers. Furthermore, we support the organization in software development through qualification measures, consulting, and the direct involvement of our experts in strategically important digitalization projects.
Job Description
- In our team, you build the autonomous systems that reshape how Bosch Power Solutions works. We develop AI agents that take over complex business and engineering processes end to end, and we apply intelligent automation where traditional software reaches its limits. If continuous learning, evolving the tech stack, and agile methods are central to you, you are exactly right with us.
- You design and implement agentic automation for business and engineering processes along the entire product life cycle, replacing manual routines with autonomous, reliable, and observable AI workflows.
- You take ownership of the architecture and implementation of complex, highly scalable multi-agent systems, and you work fluently in both low-code orchestration platforms (e.g., n8n, Copilot Studio) and rich-code frameworks (Python with LangGraph, Semantic Kernel, MCP). You know when each approach is the right one and you can defend that decision.
- You seamlessly integrate LLMs with existing enterprise IT systems, engineering tools, and data pipelines, building robust agentic systems.
- You place the highest value on clean, maintainable code and well-thought-out software architecture. Consistent application of design patterns, good practices and test-driven development (TDD) is a matter of course for you.
- In an international and interdisciplinary team, you work closely with domain experts, data engineers, and developers to deliver sophisticated software projects in production and IT environments, and you support them throughout their entire life cycle.
- You actively contribute to the team's development by sharing your knowledge, reviewing your colleagues' code, mentoring developers, and regularly gaining insights into adjacent areas such as Bosch Product Engineering, production processes, or data analytics.
Qualifications
- Personality and working style: You are a self-reliant, proactive team player who takes ownership. You are passionate about autonomous systems and equally passionate about the engineering discipline that makes them reliable in production. Clean code and a well-thought-out architecture are not just buzzwords for you; they are a lived practice.
- Experience and know-how: You have several years of professional experience in backend or full-stack software development and proven hands-on experience building agentic AI systems. Your tech stack includes: Agentic AI: Tool and function calling, agent memory and state management, multi-agent orchestration, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), and systematic evaluation of agent behavior. You use AI coding agents in your own daily development work.
- Programming languages: Strong knowledge of Python (AsyncIO, FastAPI, Pytest, typing, packaging). Knowledge of TypeScript/Node.js is a plus, and Go is an advantage.
- Software architecture and data handling: Practical experience in designing modular software systems, structured data modeling and validation (e.g., Pydantic, JSON Schema), and efficient data manipulation (e.g., pandas).
- Databases and APIs: Experience with relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL), vector databases, and designing RESTful APIs.
- Infrastructure: You are familiar with CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, ArgoCD) and DevOps practices. Experience with containers (Docker, Kubernetes) and cloud platforms such as MS Azure and Google Cloud.
Nice to have: Low-code automation platforms (n8n, Microsoft Power Platform), managed LLM platforms (Azure OpenAI Service, Google Vertex AI), industrial or IoT data and stream processing (Spark, Kafka), and Infrastructure as Code (IaC). Education: Completed degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Informatics, or a comparable field with a strong IT focus, or an Austrian HTL degree with several years of relevant professional experience. Languages: You communicate proficiently in English. Fluency in German and Portuguese is a clear plus.
