About Payoneer

Founded in 2005, Payoneer is the global financial platform that removes friction from doing business across borders, with a mission to connect the world’s underserved businesses to a rising global economy. We’re a community with over 2,500 colleagues all over the world, working to serve customers, and partners in over 190 countries and territories.

By taking the complexity out of the financial workflows–including everything from global payments and compliance to multi-currency and workforce management, to providing working capital and business intelligence–we give businesses the tools they need to work efficiently worldwide and grow with confidence.

Role Summary

We’re looking for a Director of Data , part of Payoneer’s Data & Analytics department, to lead the data function for Enterprise Marketplaces - one of Payoneer’s most strategic domains, serving our largest global marketplace and platform customers — and to serve as the senior data leader anchoring our growing India data site.

You’ll sit as part of the domain’s leadership, partner on its business goals, and lead a multi-disciplinary data team that turns those goals into trusted, high-value data solutions. As the most senior data leader on-site in India, you’ll be the anchor and primary representative of the Data & Analytics organization at the site - the face of our data function locally as the India data presence grows.

Location – Gurugram (Work from Office)

What You’ll Do

  • Domain Data Leadership – Own the data strategy and delivery for Enterprise Marketplaces. Partner on the domain’s KPIs as part of its leadership, and shape data solutions that drive its success — as a leader, not an order-taker.
  • Quarterly Planning & Prioritization – Build the squad’s quarterly workplans in close collaboration with the domain, aligned to its quarterly plans and data needs — while also surfacing the analytics and data opportunities you and the squad proactively identify.
  • Product Thinking & Solutions – Understand the business deeply, anticipate what the domain needs, and hold a high bar for how data products are designed, defined, and owned end-to-end.
  • Team Leadership & Development – Lead, grow, and develop a multi-disciplinary data team across Data Engineering, BI, Analytics, Data Science, and Data Product Management; set standards and build autonomy and quality.
  • India Site Data Leadership – As the senior data leader on-site, anchor Payoneer’s growing India data community, including professionals supporting other domains — the go-to presence ensuring people are supported and set up to succeed, in coordination with those domains’ Data Managers.
  • Ways of Working & Professional Standards – Partner with the Data & Analytics department’s professional guilds and ensure the India team and domain operate in full alignment with our established D&A data standards and processes — driving consistency with the global Data & Analytics organization, not separate local practices.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration – Partner with product, R&D, and domain leaders across a global, distributed organization; communicate progress, risks, and priorities clearly.
  • Governance & Quality – Ensure the domain’s data meets Payoneer’s standards for quality and documentation — with the trust these strategic relationships demand.

What We’re Looking For

  • 15+ years in Data/Analytics with 5+ years in data leadership roles.
  • A track record of building and growing data teams, not only running existing ones.
  • Strong business orientation - partnering with product/business leaders and translating goals into data solutions.
  • A data-product mindset - owning data products, models, or analytics end-to-end with a bar for quality and usability.
  • Experience leading multi-disciplinary data teams in global/matrix setups.
  • A leader who operates within an established operating model and drives alignment with global standards, rather than building separate local practices.
  • Working knowledge of modern data stacks (BigQuery, dbt, Looker).
  • Excellent communication, prioritization, and stakeholder-management skills.

Nice to Have

  • Knowledge of the payments or fintech industry.
  • Experience working with AI tools in a data or product context.
  • Experience as part of a domain or business-unit leadership team.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering/Information Systems or equivalent.

What Success Looks Like

  • The domain sees its data team as a true partner in achieving its business goals, not a service desk.
  • The team delivers trusted, high-value data solutions that advance the domain’s KPIs.
  • The India data site grows into a strong, well-led part of the global data organization.
